Last night SUWO performed it's first concert of this academic year at Firth Hall, Sheffield University. The effort put in the rehearsals was very noticeable in the quality of the performance given as SUWO delivered a fantastic show of musicality and professionalism from the first down beat.
The concert featured Sam Jones on solo clarinet for Christopher Turnbulls African Dances as well as assistant conductors Gareth Widdowson conducting Windows of the World (Graham) and Global Variations (Hess), and George Morton conducting Variations on a Korean Folk Song (Chance).
Even after such a good concert, SUWO will continue to rehearse for its commitments after Christmas: a Peter Meechan recording project amongst others.
